Study Background
In Spring of 2018, an international group of Dynamic Seating components manufacturers, providers, users and supporters met to discuss the future of Dynamic Seating and the growing need to increase education, awareness and access. To further our understanding of the use, awareness and barriers to access, Seating Dynamics is sponsoring the 2018 Dynamic Seating and Funding Study. The Study will be released publicly in 2019 and shared at an anticipated reconvening of the International Dynamic Seating Workgroup (IDSW) at the 2019 International Seating Symposium.

What is Dynamic Seating?
Dynamic Seating is movement which occurs within the seat and/or wheelchair frame in response to force from the client. Dynamic Seating components absorb force which, in turn, assists the client back to a starting position. Dynamic Seating can prevent client injury and equipment breakage, increase sitting tolerance, decrease agitation, increase function, and reduce extension and energy
