Since 1993 Richard Aust has worked with folks with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and developmental disabilities in a variety of jobs with the Disabilities Board of Charleston County’s HASCI Division and the Medical University of South Carolina. In his current position at MUSC as a Program Coordinator II, Richard oversees the consumer data collection of multiple spinal cord injury outcomes research studies.
Richard has been on the board of the South Carolina Spinal Cord Injury Association since 2009 and served as board chair in 2013 - 2014. Originally from Canada, he’s been a Charleston resident for 21 years, where he lives with his wife and daughter. Richard is an avid vinyl records collector from traditional blues to rock and jazz.
