In March of 2009 Alicia Reagan was a typical stay-at-home mom with five beautiful children and a sixth one on the way, when her life literally changed overnight. She went to bed feeling very sick and in tremendous pain, and woke up paralyzed from her ribs down. She was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis which was caused by a virus attacking her spinal cord. It left her a T10 paraplegic.
At the time Alicia lived in Ohio and there were no support groups available for people with spinal cord injuries. She started a local support group in her small town. It quickly grew and so did her passion to help others live their lives with purpose. Through her blog, YouTube channel, and motivational speaking, she became greatly involved with the spinal cord community where she has made many friends.
Alicia moved to Leesville in March of 2014 with her family. She immediately became involved with the Midlands Breeze group and enjoys volunteering as a peer mentor and with the ThinkFirst Injury Prevention Program. Her favorite things in life are her husband and children, who keep her very busy. She also works part-time at Able South Carolina, as well as helping her husband in his pastorate. She believes that people may not be able to choose the path they are asked to travel, but they can choose to enjoy the ride.
